Project Management for Product Development They say, “You must innovate or die.” Companies that effectively design and develop new products, services, and applications are able to earn higher profits and gain more market share than their competitors. Of course, new product development (NPD) also requires efficient project management skills. In this session, we’ll take a quick tour through the broad spectrum of project management processes applicable to product development. We will discuss how the project philosophy (waterfall or Agile) and the integration of teams throughout the project impact risk and product development. In particular, we’ll address hybrid waterfall-Agile project management for product development through WAGILE and Lean NPD. Learning Objectives: After attending this session, you will be able to: Identify the fundamental characteristics of different project management processes Understand the benefits and risks of hybrid waterfall-Agile processes Select tools and team members for new product development projects
