Speaker Bio
Frank Axiak has been an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) since March 2021 and a local PMI Coastal Bend Chapter member since September 2023. He is a Senior Test & Evaluation Analyst at Ventus Solutions (VES) supporting the US Navy’s CONSTELLATION Class Guided Missile Frigate Program Office (PMS 515). Frank applies Project Management Professional principles in the development, acquisition, schedule estimating, risk management, system engineering, requirements management, and shipboard systems testing expertise to the Navy’s Guided Missile Frigate Shipbuilding Program Office. His naval and project management expertise ensures the successful production and on-time delivery of the first Guided Missile Frigate in the ship class.
Frank has over 20 years of military experience in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer serving onboard various ship classes from minesweepers to aircraft carriers in addition to serving in important shoreside duty stations. He earned his B.S. in Marine Engineering from the US Merchant Marine Academy, USMMA, and his M.S. in Systems Engineering Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is the recipient of various Naval awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal.
Frank is committed to serving the active duty and veteran community in the Coastal Bend. His vision is to serve as the liaison between the chapter members and bases or regional military groups geographically located to the chapter. He will function as a guide and bridge to military personnel interested in PMI or Project Management that includes assistance with completing PMI certification applications.
