Getting the Project Done: Understanding and Engaging Different Generations at Work

Getting the Project Done: Understanding and  Engaging Different Generations at Work

Understanding and respecting generational differences involves becoming more aware of perceptions –  both theirs and yours – and getting curious about the differences so that you can be a better communicator. An understanding of what occurred in a generation’s formative years sheds light on their values and perspectives. This knowledge helps you get beyond stereo-typical annoyances, to becoming more effective on the people side of managing projects.

In this program you will:

  1. Gain an understanding of the differences between the generations at work – in values, priorities, and behaviors -from the Baby Boomers to Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z.
  2. Explore how your perceptions can affect your assumptions about the people you work with, and how those assumptions can affect your results
  3. Work together to provide generational “tips” on being more effective when working with Boomers, Gen X, and Millennials.
